Sharp People’s founder discussed the Future of Rec Tech

Lauren Sharp, founder and director of Sharp People, recently shared her insights with Shortlist on the evolving landscape of recruitment technology and AI tools. With a wealth of options available, recruiters are facing increasing challenges in choosing the right tools to streamline their processes.

Fresh from attending the US-based TA conference RecFest, Lauren highlighted that both Australian and US recruiters are “lost for choice” when selecting platforms. A major concern is whether the tools they adopt now will still be relevant in the fast-paced world of recruitment technology.

“Recruiters want tools that help identify top talent, but they also need to ensure that candidates can perform the basics of the role,” she said. With AI rapidly evolving, detecting AI-generated content in applications is a growing focus. Platforms like Arctic Shores, Plum, Vervo, Criteria Core, Codelify, and Codepad are just some of the tools that could help recruiters make more informed decisions, according to Lauren.

One of the key challenges facing recruiters today is the surge in “too perfect” CVs, where candidates are using AI to tailor applications and “fool” AI-based systems. Lauren noted that while some candidates are highly skilled, they may start off on the wrong foot by relying too heavily on automation.

As recruitment professionals continue to battle this issue, Lauren recommended tools like Fairgo.AI, Criteria Core, and PreScreenAI to filter out AI-generated CVs and cover letters.

Lauren’s interview offers invaluable advice for recruiters looking to leverage technology effectively in an AI-driven landscape.
